Back to the Park in the Hood
I introduced the Park in the Hood here. That was almost 3 years ago since that post. The park as I mentioned before is down the hill from my house. I pass by it each time I need to go somewhere - work, church, grocery store, etc. And yet I don't go down and enjoy it as much I should or want to.
On the first day of this year we went back and took photos. The sun was out, but it was a very chilly day.
The dome is the centerpiece of the park. It's a favorite spot for wedding photos. I have seen people do yoga, some just chill there.
People feed the seagulls and the ducks. You see little kids and their parents feed the birds with stale bread; others bring bird seed.
The patterns on the water were very entertaining.
The ducks were there as well.
And for the first time I have noticed the newcomer, which later on I found via google that it's a green heron.
One more look at the beautiful day.
Fog started to descend as we walk to car to call it a day.

A beautiful post. You certainly took advantage of the all the features the park has to offer for photographers. Sometimes a place doesn't have to be very big to offer a lot of variety.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty park - I'd certainly enjoy spending time in it if it was near me, as would my furry friends.
ReplyDeleteI love the reflection shots, very soothingly calm. So nice that this serene place is just near your residence. A perfect setting for contemplation. :)
ReplyDeleteA green heron! I have seen white and grey herons but never have even heard of a green one. WOW. And this is a good example of what's in your own backyard...and how that's often the place we never really spend much time in! Brava.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place and captured beautifully in all instances! Looks like a neat place to hang out.
ReplyDeleteI love those wonky reflections as well. :)
