Sunset Over the Ionian Sea
One of my favorite things to do on a cruise is to watch the sunset over the water. There is something about sunset watching that completes the experience of being on a holiday. I try not to miss many of them when I'm on vacation. Thus when the sun was setting on the Ionian Sea as we sailed farther and farther away from Corfu, I resisted the urge to run down to my cabin to fetch the camera. I decided that I'll watch the sunset and just use my phone to capture it.
The husband had his camera handy and these are the ones he took:

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! As far as I know, there only are two European capitals where you can see the sun setting on the ocean: Helsinki and Lisbon.
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful, but the last image with the edges of the clouds lit is truly magnificent, wow!
ReplyDeleteI simply cannot choose one to be my favorite... but the last one... wow.
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed beautiful - the last one with the Sun touching the water is perfect.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenes. Great colours.
ReplyDeleteI declare a tie!! You and your husband both had great shots. It is amazing how good cell phone cameras have become.
ReplyDeleteBoth of you made beautiful pictures --- and beautiful memories! Good thing you didn't run for your camera. The phone did great and you would probably have missed it!

Stunning glows!
ReplyDeleteWonderful sunset pictures!
ReplyDeleteo,my, such an evening. Gorgeous setting of the sun. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree - we don't always have time to sit and watch the setting sun in everyday life, so it really makes the holiday when you can make a point of doing it every day. There is something about the last shot of your husband's, with the huge sun just about to sunk below the horizon, that is very 'Mediterranean'.
ReplyDeleteGood choice to enjoy the moment and just use your phone camera. These came out great!!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely. Even the reflection of the glass in the first shots add to the drama. I have sunsets everyday, just that i don't have the water.
