Sunset Over the Ionian Sea

One of my favorite things to do on a cruise is to watch the sunset over the water. There is something about sunset watching that completes the experience of being on a holiday. I try not to miss many of them when I'm on vacation. Thus when the sun was setting on the Ionian Sea as we sailed farther and farther away from Corfu, I resisted the urge to run down to my cabin to fetch the camera. I decided that I'll watch the sunset and just use my phone to capture it.

  2. Absolutely beautiful! As far as I know, there only are two European capitals where you can see the sun setting on the ocean: Helsinki and Lisbon.

  16. I agree - we don't always have time to sit and watch the setting sun in everyday life, so it really makes the holiday when you can make a point of doing it every day. There is something about the last shot of your husband's, with the huge sun just about to sunk below the horizon, that is very 'Mediterranean'.

  18. They are lovely. Even the reflection of the glass in the first shots add to the drama. I have sunsets everyday, just that i don't have the water.
