Blue skies, bluer water, clear beautiful day, it's impossible to get the blues on this day.
Taken at Avalon Bay, Catalina Island one winter day in 2006.

Our friends were taking us to this authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the city one evening when while traversing Eastshore Freeway hubs reminded me to take a snap of this beautiful sunset. I was admiring it from the back seat with the camera in my lap without a thought of snapping it. He said this picture would be good for my drive-by series. No drive-by series, sky watch meme it is.
You can see a silhouette of Transamerica Building and Sutro Tower. There's the bay in between me and the city.
BTW, the food was excellent, the company terrific, and the evening was overall wonderful.

...before I reach home. But I don't mind one bit. I am enjoying the drive, drinking in the beauty that is Yosemite, and taking in as much of this peaceful surroundings as I can.
In the meantime, I know my two loyal readers/visitors are sick and tired of fall colors and are just too polite to shake me senseless and yell: STOP THE MADNESS! SHOW SOMETHING ELSE. I get the it. So, I may or may not post more fall colors in the coming days; however, I should start with some random shots starting tomorrow.
For now this is it for fall colors. Thank you for bearing with me and my love of fall colors.

There was a time in my life when dead trees/naked trees were simply scary, particularly when silhouetted by the moonlight. It could also be just a product of my over active imagination. I do blame all those horror movies though.
Before I thought they were scary; now I find them beautiful and full of character and personality.

I was digging through my archives for photos to post here. And voila, I found this aerial shot of coastal California that my dear husband took a couple of years ago. This picture I thought kind of hit two birds with one stone, skywatch and my world. I love those cottony white clouds scattered above our great state.
Happy skywatching. For more wonderful photos, here's where to find them.
THANK YOU RACHEL
Rachel generously bestowed upon this humble site, a butterfly award. I am extremely happy and grateful. Salamat po!

A view from a little higher. From fall of 2007 in Sonoma County. This was at about the same time last year and some have just started to turn yellow.
Don, here's a little shot of grape leaves turning red. It was my November 23, 2007 post. It was shot from a distance so it's not as clear. I will see if I have a one in the archives that show they become red too.

We left downtown with full stomach and check out this road we have never seen before. On the way, we spotted a little Mexican cantina and vowed to stop there on the way home for a little good taco. I know we are full, but there's always a room for taco right?
This drive was basically to see if we can photograph grapes. I have never timed our drives here for a shot of ready to pick grapes. Our research showed that the harvest was a couple of weeks ago so I thought snapping shots of fall vineyards colors would be good too, even though I had shots in my archives of them.
But lo and behold! I found a vineyard that still have green leaves and ripe fruits. I really don't know if these are just left overs from the harvest as you can see some of the fruits are drying up. While a couple of leaves are red, the rest are still green.
We stopped by that little cantina after our photo session and found that the little cantina is more of a bar that serves taco and other American food like fries, hotdogs, burgers. We said no to that cantina. Frustrated we headed home.
There is still one image left for this series.

This is my entry for this week's hunt. This was shot on a lazy Saturday afternoon along the lazy backroads of Napa Valley.
This was my choice for this week's meme because I was very lazy to dig through my archives for one that would fit the bill, plus this would also keep my series about an afternoon in Napa going.

This one I titled, Dark Clouds Overhead. This is how I have been feeling lately so it's quite appropriate that I have this shot to share for Skywatch.
I thank my willing model for gamely posing. Of course I am using the term "willing" loosely.
I am posting this earlier than required as I anticipate a PC-less day tomorrow. I have some appointments and will be able to connect late that night. Better early than late with skywatch posting.
Will visit your sites Thursday evening/night. Happy Skywatching every one.

Last weekend, October 4-5, is the first weekend in a few months that hubs and I had nothing previously scheduled to do, attend, and/or see. So, we thought another good old drive to neighboring Napa valley is the order of the day. Besides a good whiff of fresh air, we were there to sneak a peek at the grape leaves hoping they have turned to marvelous reds [they were still green] and have a little taste of jambalaya [paired nicely with a glass of pinot grigio] as downtown Napa was having a street fair, New Orleans theme with crawfish, jambalaya, etc.
On Friday night, we had an unexpectedly early, yet most welcome precipitation. We had rain!!!!! Which lasted until midmorning Saturday. Here's some left over clouds we encountered on the drive to Napa. This one's on the stretch of road in American Canyon I believe.

I have failed to mention that the fall colors entries I have posted so far are all from the archives. It's far too early for California to explode in colors. Although, the maples in my neighborhood are almost at their peak. I doubt that every where else are starting early.
Anyway, here's another shot from Plumas County, in the Northeastern Sierra some 200 miles away. Every two years I try to come and drive their scenic byways.
This one's from last October.

While I don't get sad a lot, I do feel down sometimes. And when I do, my wonderful husband knows the cure, my panacea for every malaise. He would say, "Get in the car, babe. We're going for a drive." And five minutes into the trip ---be it long or short--- my sadness evaporates in thin air.
Now, tell me driving in this scenic road would lift up one's spirits, wouldn't it? Feel free to swipe my prescription for sadness, stress, and whatever malaise you have.
Happy weekend every one. Happy photo hunting.

It's Skywatch time again. And this week it also coincides with my day dreaming time. So here's my dream:
I want to live in my own island, something like the one pictured, where I could grow my own organic vegetables, tend to my goats, and chicken, and turkeys and where I could step out of my porch and fish for my supper.
After the chores are done, it's always a perfect time to skywatch.
Thank you everyone for visiting my skywatch entries every week. I truly appreciate it.
Keep on skywatching!!!!
